Spring 2013 NYSE Tour

For the past several years, alumnus Tom Sabroe ’88, Vice President, Finance at Broadridge Financial Solutions, has been hosting TCNJ business students for biannual half-day sessions with guests speakers, luncheon and tour of the NY Stock Exchange trading floor. In April, 14 students were joined by Raymond Raszka ’04 (also at Broadridge), Assistant Dean Tammy Dieterich, and Finance Professor Seunghee Choi.

Commencement 2013

Congratulations to the class of 2013! View photos of TCNJ’s 2013 Commencement Program in TCNJ Magazine and in the Times of Trenton.

The College of New Jersey Main Commencement program took place on Thursday, May 16, 2013 – 1,567 students graduated from undergraduate programs. An additional 389 graduate degrees were conferred. School of Business graduates lined up for the procession below, led by Matt Carlson, Vice President of Beta Gamma Sigma, who carried the School gonfalon.

Continuing a tradition started by Dean Keep in 2010, we have a student speaker to represent the graduating class at the School of Business Commencement Program. The 2013 speaker was Kaitlynn Zolnay, an entrepreneur who majored in Interdisciplinary Business with minors in Law, Politics, and Philosophy (pictured top row, left.)

Beta Gamma Sigma Faculty Awards

In addition, officers of Beta Gamma Sigma – the honor society for AACSB accredited business schools – presented the third annual BGS Faculty Awards which recognize professors who have made a profound impact on the student body, as voted on by the entire senior class in the School of Business. Here are the award recipients along with a sampling of student comments:

Professor Karen Becker-Olsen: The Award for Teaching Style that Created the Most Engaging Learning Environment

“Professor Becker’s class is engaging but challenging and she is able to facilitate excellent class discussions in which the entire class gets involved and enthused in the projects. With project-style management rather than notes-based lectures, she has taught me the importance of conducting research in thought-provoking ways.”

Professor Joyce Vincelette: The Award for Passion for Business ~ Most Inspirational

“Professor Vincelette was my first true mentor from TCNJ. My only regret is that I did not meet her until my senior year during Strategic Management. I had gone through my TCNJ career without ever connecting on a higher level with professors, but Prof. Vincelette would make the class engaging and always provided feedback on assignments.”
